Here’s one for anyone at home with kids as well as schools and play workers.
If a child needs help to manage their feelings of anger and frustration, offer them a large scribble pad and pens or crayons for them to use when they need to. Ensure they are able to access this easily and offer support and demonstrations if needed.
This activity provides a powerful message that all feelings are acceptable and an alternative and constructive way of helping a child to release them. It can also be a useful tool to assist them in the process of self-regulation.
